Features of Conquest Version 1.3+: 1. New Options: a. Free Moves - Several options have been added for determining when a player can make a freemove. b. Hide opponent's non-adjacent territories - This option is similar to Stratego in the sense that the owner and number of armies on territories that do not border a human owned territory are hidden from view. c. Territory Selection - Now, Conquest allows the computer and human opponents to each pick their territories at the beginning of the game. This option is called 'Player's choice.' d. Bonus Armies - can now be fixed or escalating in value. 2. Other changes: a. The cursor remains where you last used it in army placement when you enter the attack phase. b. The Partioned Territory selection bug has been fixed. c. The opening Title screen can be bypassed with a keystroke or click. d. Army allocation menus are less dependent on the SPEED setting. e. The map & save file names are now listed alphabetically. 3. Several modifications to the computer opponent rule database were made. Since I have switched to C++, I am now using objects for some of Conquest's functions. 4. A Player's Guide is included to supplement the on-line help. This guide is written with no word processing format instructions, so you can print it with the DOS 'print' command, or pull it in to your own word processor. 5. If you registered any prior version, your password will work. 6. Version 1.3+ is a update to version 1.3 just to eliminate a bug in the attack routine that under a specific set of circumstances could cause the program to abort. David Burns 19 August 91
